Why choose online counselling?
As well as in-person counselling in Belper, I also offer online counselling sessions via a video platform. People choose online sessions for many reasons:
THE RIGHT COUNSELLOR
Sometimes a client and I really connect during an introductory call, but we are hundreds of miles away from one another. Other times, people seek me out from other parts of the country because my specialist GSRD experience is important to them. Online sessions mean they get to choose the counsellor who is the right fit for them.
ACCESSIBILITY
For some of my clients, online sessions means that counselling can fit into their lives. There's no need to travel, making it the more accessible option, particularly for those who have mobility issues, chronic illness, caring responsibilities, and/or busy and demanding schedules.
CONSISTENT SUPPORT
Some people see me online because they work away a lot. For others, the journey to my therapy room in Belper can be difficult at times. Online sessions offer a way to access counselling with me consistently.
CONNECTION
In my experience, online counselling allows for deep, moving and vibrant connection. Have you ever laughed or cried at a film or TV show? If so, you have experienced the powerful emotional connection that can be conveyed and received through a screen.*
For online sessions, you will need a strong and secure internet connection, and a device that has a camera (preferably a laptop or tablet, but mobile phones can also work if placed on a stable stand).

It is important that you feel secure and comfortable in your space, and that you feel confident that you will not be overheard, as this will enable you to engage in the session more fully.
